Inflation in Italy remained at 0.4% in August – Forex

In August of this year, annual inflation in Italy, according to Italian standards, was 0.4%, keeping the level of July. This final assessment was published by the statistical agency Istat. Compared to the previous month, consumer prices also increased by 0.4%. Consumer prices, which do not cover grocery, alcohol and energy products, rose 0.5 percent after a similar rise in July. The annual increase in the cost of food was 0.9%. For the month they rose by 0.1%. Alcohol and tobacco products increased in price for the year by 1.9%, and compared to July their prices did not change. Clothing and footwear also retained their value compared to the previous month, while for the year these goods rose by 0.3%. Transport services increased in price by 0.6% year-on-year and by 2.1% compared to July. Annual inflation, according to EU standards, accelerated in August to 0.5% from 0.3%. Prices have not changed in monthly terms.
